Louis Andre


Louis has a distinguished career in security and intelligence in the public and private sector. He most recently served as COO for Kiernan Group Holdings and previously as Senior Vice President for Intelligence Business Strategy at CACI International. Louis spent his public sector career with the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) where he held a variety of senior roles in analytics and management, including as Chief of the Global Analysis Division and Chief and founding member of the Counterterrorism Branch, the organizational precursor to the Joint Intelligence Task Force – Combating Terrorism. His final role at DIA included the dual responsibilities of Chief of Staff and COO. Among other achievements, he received the Presidential Rank Award for both Distinguished Executive and Meritorious Executive. Louis attended the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, the Federal Executive Institute, the Intelligence Fellows Program, and the Program for Senior Officials in National Security at Harvard University.

Giuseppe Strafforello

Executive Vice President and CTO

Giuseppe’s diverse professional background includes key roles in technology organizations as a computer programmer, technologist, and researcher and developer. Giuseppe’s initial career afforded him the opportunity to address mission-critical, high-performance database applications in the finance domain. Subsequently, he was the co-founder of Hicare (now Hicare Research), which in 2013 was included by Gartner in their Magic Quadrant for CPM. He personally designed and implemented new technology that became the basis for a flagship product, Lilith Enterprise (now Luna Decision). More recently he performed research and development for an innovative approach to database management systems, with a specific invention that was not disclosed by the funding entity. Over time, Giuseppe focused his expertise on natural language processing technology, with the dual role of technical management and research and development. Giuseppe’s educational background is a richly interdisciplinary – he has an MS in Physics from Torino University, Italy and an MA in Music from the Conservatory of Torino, Italy.

Emily Pace

Principal Linguist

Emily has a breadth of experience across the non-profit, public, and private sectors, including at IBM Watson, the National Association of Attorneys General, the Close Up Foundation, and the Library of Congress European Reading Room. Her academic and career focus brings attention to social complexity through interconnected domains of language, communication, political science, cultural studies, anthropology, and education. As head of linguistic project development, she leverages the deep skills and knowledge of her team to collaboratively produce solutions informed by client needs. Emily holds a B.A. in French and Arabic and an M.S. in Theoretical Linguistics, both from Georgetown University, as well as certificates from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). She serves as a convener for the Linguistic Society of America’s Linguistics Beyond Academia Special Interest Group.

Razvan Popovici

Principal Data Scientist

Razvan’s background is a mixture of software development and machine learning. At ESUSA, his focus is the research and development of methods to explore unstructured data, through visualization, clustering and search. Previous assignments consisted of applying machine learning for songs recommendations, development of business intelligence tools and development of data exploration applications for bioinformatics. Prior to this, Razvan has developed software for automotive, mobile communications, console management, GIS and accounting. Razvan has a PhD in Computer and Information Technology, with the research focus on signal and string analysis through machine learning methods, and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, both from Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania.
